The Future of our Planet
Since ClimaCount started in 2004, a major shift has taken place in people's awareness world-
wide. Thanks to the Kyoto Protocol to control climate change, to the good work of many global NGOs, and
to the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
in 2007, more people than ever before are becoming aware of the impact their everyday life has on the
environment. Thanks to ClimaCount they are now also discovering that there is a simple and reliable
way to limit this impact and to fight global warming personally.
Although the focus at present is mostly on the offsetting of carbon emissions, ClimaCount believes that awareness stimulates the reduction of carbon emissions and it is committed to a comprehensive strategy when it comes to fighting global warming. The ClimaCount offset scheme offers card users the possibility to keep track of their Carbon Footprint. This makes them more aware of the impact their purchasing choices have on the environment.
